Weddings....

I've been a bit quiet on my blog over the past few days..... well I can now tell you the reason behind that one....
One of my sisters got married!
So off I went to London with Kris to see Amanda marry Adam.
They had a wonderful day and both looked very very happy. They are now off sunning themselves somewhere nice and hot....
I'll let you see some of the photos when they come back from the photographer.....
Here though is the card that I gave her.......... what the picture doesn't show is the glitter that is all over the wording. The wording was created using the silhouette machine.

I thought it was quite good as the something blue!

In the arms of an angel

Dom was one of my Guides and is now one of my Young Leaders. She has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard - I am soooo proud of her!
I heard her singing a cover of another song and I asked her if she would sing this one for me - and she did!
This is a very important song to me, especially today.
This is the song that Kris and I picked to play at David's funeral.
I love the song, it sums everything up and Dom singing it for me makes it all the more special. (Thank you Dom, you can never realise just how much this means to me. xxx).

Although today is a sad day, it is also a time to look back and smile. David was a very special man who loved us all and who was loved by us all. I was very lucky to have him in my life.

Enjoy today - tell the people around you that you love them...... You never know when the journey together will end - never have regrets.

Sealed with a kiss x

My project for today is a very emotional one for me.
As some of you will know (and some of you may not as I normally keep this blog for crafty things...) my husband, David, died 2 years ago today. He was the grand old age of 39 and his death was very unexpected.
So for today I thought I would post a scrapbook page that I have made.
I know this picture of it is not the best, but you get the idea of what the page looks like.
I really enjoyed making the page - there are so many happy memories from that day.
The base of the page is kraft card - I am really loving that card stock! and the embellishments are made from coredinations cardstock. All of this is available from your local Do Crafts stockist.

White on white

My card for today is another Do Crafts one....
I loved creating this clean and simple design.
I embossed the base card and then attached a sentiment from the female sentiment collection (available from all Do Craft stockists) I used 3d pads to add some more depth.
I really like these sentiments, I think the verse here is really nice.
To finish off the card I added some white rose buds and then some white flowers, leaves and ferns. The centre of the flowers are adhesive pearls.
It gives a very elegant look.
Next I am going to try this kind of design with another colour - but again just one colour..... this could become very addictive!

Using grey

I had a wonderful demo this weekend up in Letham - such a fantastic shop, great customers and I just love Heleen and Bill (they are just the nicest couple that you will ever meet)...
One of the cards I made was this one,
I made this card to show that using grey is a good way to get a classical elegant looking card that can be used for any occassion.
I think the grey goes well with the little Tatty Teddy too.
The adhesive gems that I used are multicoloured so they change colour depending on the angle that you look at them.
Today the weather here is wild - 80mph winds and a lot of rain....
Hopefully it's a bit nicer where you are.

Congratulations......

Here is my card for today.....
This is the front of the card. I have created a pocket on the front of the card..... (the ribbon is where you pull the tab out).
I will be showing this at my demo this weekend.
The car is from the new John Byars collection. They are another fantastic set of stamps.... there is a set that is cars and a set that is male sport themed. They are stunning - they look like they have been sketched by you when you stamp them. I love them!
I will be in Letham crafts this weekend - if you happen to be around, come on over and say hello.

Square easel

Good morning.... for today's card I thought I would do a little tutorial for you.
This is the finished card.....

So now...... here is how you make it.
Here is what you will need. I have used some Tatty Teddy decoupage and papers. Ink, paper flowers, ribbon, brads and adhesive gems.
The base for the card is a standard square card. Fold this along the crease line, use a bone folder as this will make sure that the crease is nice and sharp.
Fold the top of the card over on itself. Again use a bone folder for a sharp crease.
Decide on the papers that you want to use. We are going to layer the papers so make sure your base paper is 1/2cm larger than the top layer.
Ink the edges of the paper - this will make each layer stand out.
Fix into position on your card.
Now we need to make the paper bar for the bottom of the card (this will help your chosen embellishment to stand up). Attach the ribbon to this strip before you fix it to the card base.
Fix into position on the base of the card and attach a second piece of ribbon to create the knot.
Now you want to add your embellishment. I have used some glitter cardstock to layer mine. Use the photo above for guidance as to where you need to put the topper.
When  the card stands it should now look like this. (Sorry about the glare, the pics where taken with my mobile phone and the light was very bright!)
Next we want to add some extra embellishments. I am using some blue and white paper flowers.
You can see where I have put them. These will help your card stand nicely.
To finish I have added some adhesive stone. I can never have enough adhesive stones!
This is the card from the side.
Let me know if you use the tutorial or make the card. I would love to pop over to your blog to see what you have made.

Elle - Mid month tutorial

Over on the Elle challenge blog there is a wonderful tutorial for a fabby little gift bag....... come on over and play along, we would love to see what you create!
Here is the gift bag that I created...
and here are a few close ups..
It's a great idea, creating your own little gift bag - that way you can always have one to match your papers or card.
And it just finishes off your prezzie.

Whatever you are doing today - have fun!!!! I'm off out to spend the day with my Mum. We're going to be doing some girlie shopping - something unheard of for me, so I might need to just pop into a craft shop or buy a few tools just to balance it all out!

You're a star

Well this is take 2 with this post!
All my posts that I was working on the other day have now vanished - so it might take me a while to redo them all... so not a happy bunny when I found that one out this morning!!!

Oh never mind....
The card I wanted to show you this morning is this one............
The brick effect behind the little Tatty Teddy is made using a Tim Holtz embossing folder and some Kraft card. Once embossed all you do is drag an ink pad (brown) all over and the raised section then looks shaded.
I really like the effect that this has given.
I'll be back soon with a tutorial ...

Feeling blue....

The card for today is another little Tatty Teddy. This time I created a masked moon in the background and then I thought I would add some detail by drawing in the wall and grass.
Again I stuck to using shades of blue so that the whole card co-ordinated.

This whole range really is sweet and it's going down a storm at demos across the country.

You'll find me.........

I made this sign to hang on my front door - so there will be no chance of me missing out on any crafting goodies that are getting delivered.
I love using the chipboard pages from little albums for other things, and I think this is a great way to use them.
The decoupage is from the ultimate pack - a snip at only £12, this card makes over 80 cards!!! And, if you use the money off voucher in your Creativity mag, you will get £2 off!!!
The pack is full of decoupage (all die cut so no need to worry about the tricky bits!!), backing papers, boxes, toppers and sooooo much more!

Grab them while you can... WIGIG!!!! (when it's gon, it's gone).....

Black and blue

The wonderful world of Tatty Teddy and Me To You has now hit the shops in papercrafting items!!!
This little chap is sooo easy to use and fab for any occasion. There will be lots of samples of this range coming on the blog.......
I've called this one black and blue as those are the colours I've used.
Sometimes it's nice just to have a couple of colours rather than lots.
Yesterday I had a very very busy demo at Millers in Glasgow, thank you to all of you who came by to say hello.
Tatty Teddy, Tulip and the goody bag were all very popular.
I always get a buzz from crafting and when you get to share it with like minded people that makes it even better!
I'll be back there in 4 weeks, so pop the date into your diary and come on over and say hello...

Elle challenge

Over on the Elle challenge blog, there is a new challenge up for you to play along with.
This time around the challenge is birthday....... I loved working with this digi.
I thought that if it was your birthday you would deserve to have lots of time to relax!

What you can't see from the photo is that all of the bubbles have been glazed so that they stand out from the card and look like real little bubbles of water.

Come on over to the Elle challenge (follow the link on my side bar) and play along with us. I'd love to see what you create.

Inspiring

I was out for a walk yesterday and took this photo...
Don't you think nature can just take your breath away at times.
I love the look of the blossom against the clear blue sky.

Here is a card I made after my walk......... the photo even turned out blue! lol
I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine too.
