Hello.....

A few months ago I was asked to create a card for one of the Hobbycraft flyers (you know the ones.... they are the free instruction leaflets that you can pick up when you visit their stores)....
It had to be clean and simple and use the alphabet and heart dies.
This is what I came up with....
The heart is cut from the card on the top green card and then layered - it's a bit hard to see from the photo.
The full 'how to' instructions are available in Hobbycraft..... I must pop by and pick one up! lol
Happy crafting, whatever you are up to today

What are you up to?

I thought that for my post today I would show you my creative space and what is on my desk this morning......
I have a very busy week this week with one thing or another...... (both crafty and none crafty)....
This is my creative space....
I love my crafty room..... it's filled with all my fav stuff.... I can play away here for hours and hours....
Sometimes you will even find me in here just looking out the window and the incredible view that I have.
I look onto the Pentland Hills - they are stunning at every time of the year.
I have an obsession with ribbon.... and these boxes (you just gotta love Ikea for storage!!!) are jammed full of ribbon..... As you can see I also love to visit the £1 shop for double sided tape....
And then there is my love of all things paper..... This stack that you can see here is a 12x12 stack that I bought many a year ago..... it's about 6 foot tall and as you can see is now full. I remember when I bought it thinking that I would never fill it..... oopsie.... this year the plan is to really get into it and start using it....
So what is on my desk right now..
Today I have to finish off these pyrography samples and do the write ups that go with them....... do some write ups for some cards that I made over the weekend and get them emailed across to Katy....... make some more samples..... organise a craft workshop....... get my blog post ready for the next challenge over on the Crafting Cafe blog ..... and I have another commission to do for a lady at work...
What are you up to today?

Have fun, whatever you are doing....
Happy crafting...

Mothers Day Blues

I have been commissioned to make a few Mothers Day cards for people at work so I thought I would play around with some ideas.
This card is using the new range of Parisienne Blue from Do Crafts..... The whole range has a very french feel to it. I think this will be very popular. The stamped little bottle tops have been created using the Madam Payraud typewriter stamps and a medium circle punch.......
When you punch out the circles and then just emboss the edge it looks like a little bottle top - very cute!
I can see me using this technique for lots of things like names etc for mens cards.
The purple background has been created with the new Do Crafts spritzing ink.

Have a great crafty weekend
Thanks for taking at peek at my latest project.

I'm entering this card into a few challenges.....

15th birthday commission

I always find it harder to do a commission card when you have no idea about the person who is getting the card....
It always makes it easier when you know at least a little bit....
This was the problem I had with my latest commission..... create a couple of cards for a 15th birthday, for a young man called Ryan....
Hmmmm..... Now normally the creativity is not very hard to find, but as I have been under the weather it has taken me a lot longer....
This is what I came up with.

They seem to have gone down well with the person who is giving them so all is good.
Today my desk is covered in tissue paper, ink and pva........ I'll show you what I am creating as soon as it's finished.
Have fun with whatever you are doing.

Paint sample strips

Today I wanted to show you 3 cards that I made with some of the paint sample strips that I have.
You know the ones - you are looking to chose a colour of paint so you get the free sample strip with lots of shades of the same colour on them..... well this is what I made with them......

Nice clean and simple cards, but they are great fun to make and really quick and easy.
Perfect for that crafting in a hurry and you always know the colours will work together!!!
I think I might need to get some more of these....
Happy crafting

The last of last year....

Well in cards that is.....
Here are 2 of my favourite cards from last month..... I had to wait until now to show them to you...
The first card is made using the village scene dies from Do Crafts - I can see me using this die a lot!
The backing papers are some of the downloads that are available to Creativity Club members.

Lots of dimension by adding some 3d foam pads.
This card was a commission card that I did.
Emma loves giraffes and Elmo..... so I did this to combine them.....
I do love a challenge!
Enjoy your day today with whatever you are doing.

Welcome Ellie...

Last year I was commissioned to create a new baby card for a very special little girl who made her entrance into the world.
It had to be quite a big card as there were a lot of people to sign it.
This was the card I made.

It was a lot of fun to make and I was really pleased with the finished card.
What creative things have you been up to over the festive season?
