So, a lot of the time when I create I create cards or papercraft items..... this time I wanted to share with you some 3d creativity that doesn't have any paper featured on it at all!
Here are the projects I wanted to share with you,
The first project that I created for a friend...... she is mad about Tigger....
I think every room in my house will sparkle with this glitter for months! This was a lot of fun to make though, just a little time consuming as I had to wait for the glues to set and dry between every layer.
She was over the moon with it, so I guess that's the main thing.
Here is my second project to share..... great for all kids or big kids. It's really effecting and can be tailed for whatever colour you want to use.
This was great fun too - I'll be making more of these using some additional embellishments etc, great base for a 3d project.
For the moment though, it's hanging in my studio.
I've been busy creating over the last few weeks - some wedding samples using the lastest wedding range from Do Crafts and I've been lucky enough to create some of the DT samples for Oak House Studio. They will be showing you lots of fabby inks and stamps when they appear on Hochanda next week.
I'll be sharing those samples with you over the next few weeks.....
Until then..... happy Friday - have a craft filled weekend!

Embossing meets home decor...
It's my turn to blog over on the WOW! challenge blog and I just love the theme this month!
This month we have been set the challenge of creating some home decor with our embossing powders.
I knew what I wanted to make right away!
I have been slowly creating and moving into a crafty studio in my house and I wanted a nice light shade for the ceiling light.
So this is what I created....
The light was on when I took these pictures so it's quite hard to see the colours, but scroll down and you will see a close up shot of the butterflies.
I die cut lots of different butterflies and chose my colour scheme.. I used melt it powder, frozen berries, primary purple orchid, purple glitz, violet pearl and blue topaz
I wanted a purple mix so I took a silver dish and combined my purples.
Then I inked the butterflies and embossed them, one at a time.
To attach them to my lampshade I used a hot glue gun.
Here is the close up of the butterflies on the shade...
I think they look really pretty.
We would love to see how you use your embossing powders around the home with your DIY projects, play along with the challenge and you could win some WOW! powders too!
Happy crafting

Circle baubles
Hey everyone, sorry I've been a bit MIA over the past few weeks.... the time has just flown by!
Here is a card that I made at my last demo - I used the Art Deco papers from Do Crafts and punched out lots of little circles.
Taking them 3 at a time I folded them in half and then stuck them together.
When you attach them to the card you can see that you get a really good 3d effect. It's great because although you get a really dimensional card - it goes flat for going into the post!!!! Yay - no extra postage!!!
I'm off to Inverness for the demo tomorrow, it's been a long time since I came up to see the ladies up there.
Inverness has always been a favourite of ours as a family, the Highlands of Scotland have something truelly magical about them.
If you ever get the chance - visit! And make sure you bring your camera....
I'll be back next week to show you all the other things I have been making recently.... have a great weekend.
Happy crafting

Weekend crafting
Hi everyone...
Well the autumn seems to have crept up on us.... tonight the rain is lashing against the window of the study... hey perfect for crafting then!
Looks like I might be doing quite a bit of that over the next few days then.....
Here are a couple of things I made this week and wanted to share with you..
The first one uses one of the new Do Crafts palm punches, this design is a snowflake...... but in true Nikki fashion, I found something different to do with it..... It's perfect for a wreath...
This next little project is made with felt.... I love making little pin cushions....
The final card for this post is made using the scraps that I had left from another card.... I thought it looked like a bright little fence.... so that's what I did with it...
Tonight I planned to make some more things, but I had a great chat with a girlfriend on the phone...... so now I might just blog hop around for a bit.... more crafting to do tomorrow...
Have a great weekend, whatever you get up too.
Happy crafting

Creating with WOW!
I do love getting inking fingers and getting to create with WOW! embossing powders.
Today my project has gone live on their blog.
Here is what I created....
My project started off it's life as an empty little chocolate box.......
I took the insides out so that I was just left with the box.
Then I gave it all a quick coat of acrylic paint and covers the larger sections with paper.
I mixed up a whole load of embossing powders until I got this.....
Then I embossed the outside of my box and the embellishments to decorate it.....
Finishing off by adding some ribbon...
And there it is....
Here is a close up of my embellishments.
If you pop on over to the WOW! blog you will find the shopping list and links to the powders that I used.
Hope you like it.
Have a craft filled day...
Happy craftin

A little bird......
or two!
And not a card to be found...... Today I wanted to show you a couple of my little friends who will be coming with me to my demos over the next couple of weeks.....
Little blue is made with some of the felt from the new felt bundle that Do Crafts have brought out this month.
Hoolet is made from some of the fabric fat quarters that Do Crafts have brought out this month as well.
I have to say I loved working with both of the sets of material.
It was nice to play with something different......
But I am loving making my samples cards for the loop as well - more on that one tomorrow....
There are lots of different goodies that are heading to your local Do Crafts stockist as we speak - take your pennies when you go and visit! lol....
I'll be back again tomorrow with a card to show you - also I will have news of a DT call that you might be interested in.... watch this space!

When is a bauble not a bauble?
When it's a flower........
Using Do Crafts 'Home for Christmas' range, I cut the baubles from a 12x12 sheet then stuck them onto a card disk.
I used silicone to give it a more 3d look.
It also gave me a lot more time to work with the petals and get them into the position I wanted.
I've made a few of these to use to decorate some prezzies this year...
What have you been up to?

A little flower frame...
I created this little canvas.. well just because I can really!
I thought it would look good as an embellishment on a card and then it could be taken off and used as a magnet.....
I love using Do Crafts crackle glaze. It gives an amazing effect and you can use it on card to create a really interesting background.
This little canvas is 7cm x 7cm.... the flower is one of the new big bloomer flowers from the Happy Days range..
I'll have this at my demo if you want to see it up close.
Have a craft filled day xxx

A little bear house
I had sooo much fun creating this little house for the Creativity Club over at Do Crafts...
I loved coming up with this and if you are a member of the Creativity Club you can pop on over and get the templates for it - free!!!!
I will be making sooooo many of these on the run up to Christmas as I think they will be brilliant for Advent calendars and little Christmas street scenes...... I also think it would be a great way to keep the kids happy over the "summer" holidays...... They could make dolls houses or dioramas..... great little keep sakes.
If you are a member of the Do Crafts Creativity Club and you do make one of these, I would love to see what you create. Make sure you upload it into your Do Crafts gallery and I will pop on over and leave you a comment.
Happy crafting

The big reveal
So...... here is the project I have been working on this weekend that I have been dying to show you all!
I had so much fun working on it, and there are still a lot of bits that I want to add to it...... It was definitely a work of love. I can see me making lots of them! (I thought they would make a great gift for people - you could theme the house to whoever you were giving it to).
I made this one from a wooden box but I will be working on a paper version too - watch this space....
So for this one,
As the paint drys it splits and cracks, revealing the purple underneath.
At this point you decorate it however you want.
Each little section has a different story behind it.
Here is the house again as it is at the moment....
I'll post another picture later when I have finished some more of it.
Hope you like it

So for this one,
This is the wooden template that I bought.
I covered the whole thing with purple artiste acrylic paint (from Do Crafts). It took a couple of coats to make sure it was covered.
When that was dry, I covered the whole thing with artiste crackle glaze - left this overnight to dry and then added white artiste acrylic paint.
The crackle effect works best if you have a thick top coat of the white paint on it.As the paint drys it splits and cracks, revealing the purple underneath.
At this point you decorate it however you want.
