Triple Layer Stamped Card

Hi there,

I've been asked a couple of times for a tutorial on this type of card, so here it is!
This is the card that I will be showing you how to create....

So, here's how you can put it together....

I am using these stamps from Hobby Art (fantastic stamps, excellent value for money and a great stamped image all the time)....
So to start the card I cut an 11x11cm, a 9x9cm and a 7x7cm from white card stock. Then I cut the matting layers for each of these squares. So an 11.5x11.5cm, 9.5x9.5cm and a 7.5x7.5cm square from patterned paper.
Put the patterned papers to one side for the minute.
Put a little piece of double sided tape onto the center of the two largest squares. Make the tape a little less tacky by pressing it against some fabric or by rubbing it lightly with your fingers.
Layer these squares on top of each other as shown here.
Go ahead and stamp your design all over the layered squares.
When you separate your squares they will look like this....
Layer these onto your patterned paper squares.
Match up the design and fix into place. (I have used double sided tape to do this but you could use 3d foam pads for extra depth).
 Fix onto your card.
To finish my card I have added some colour to the flowers, used some ribbon and a greeting...... and of course as it's me, there had to be some adhesive stones.
Here are two cards, made with the same stamp set. It's an easy to do technique that gives great effect.

I hope you found this useful. Let me know if you use it, I'd love to see what you create.

Getting prepared....

With 324 days to go, it's a great time to get making those Christmas cards..... to be honest I've got loads done already! I am soooooooo gonna be prepared this year! lol

Today I wanted to share a couple of the cards with you.....

I've had quite a few commission pieces to work on over the past few weeks, and I've got a few weddings to get making things for....... Let the spring time madness begin with that one! lol

I'm going to be looking for some challenges to join in with too over the next few weeks as all my dt posts have now come to an end...... It's a strange feeling.... but I'm sure something else will come along at some point.

It does mean that I've had the time to sort out and clean up the studio...... I love that place!!!

What are you all up to at the moment?

Whatever it is, have fun!

Thank you

Every year I like to make a set of thank you cards so that I have them all ready and good to go.
I write them for gifts that I am given for Christmas, birthday or just as a way to say thank you to someone.
(I remember after every Christmas or birthday as a child being made to write thank you notes to everyone and it's just kind of stayed with me - it's such a shame that a lot of children; and adults for that matter, just don't say thank you any more. And I think a little note makes it extra special).
For these designs I used one of my Hobby Art stamps - excellent quality, very reasonable prices, excellent customer services....... also bought the ink from them too....

A little close up for you .......
I really love these stamps.... Watch this space for a lot more being done with them.

Have a great day, whatever you are up to.

New month.... new posting......

Well January has come and gone...... and what a busy busy month it's been.
I have been creating lots of things and due to the power of blogger and being able to schedule posts, I plan to share a lot of them with you over the next month...
Of course I'll be creating lots over February too - so catch will be fun! lol

Here is the project that I wanted to share with you today.
A few years ago a friend of mine gave me a wreath that was made from willow and had buttons and fabric puffs on it.
Sadly over time it started to need a repair job so I pulled it apart and redid it.
I decided I wanted to make a sign for my studio door.....
Kris bought me a 3d printer pen for Christmas....... So I used that to create the 'studio' sign.

This part is glow in the dark!!! I just love it!!!
Here is the sign now proudly hanging on my studio door.....

I'd love to know what you think of it.
What have you got planned for a crafty February? I'm planning making more things with my printer pen...... It's a lot of fun. I've also got a few commissions on the go..... I'll share everything when I can.

My crafty cave

I love my crafty space. It's a place to create, a place to ignore whatever is going on in the outside world and it's a place where I get to spent creative time with Kris and friends.
For a long time I've been organising and sorting and I know I promised to share some photos when I was finished......
Well that will always be an ongoing thing so I thought I'd share some pics with you now.
This is my crafty studio....
 All sorted and organised.
12x12 stack that's now as tall as me....

 I do like ribbon....
Here's my desk...... Ready to get creating...

As you can see, I do love a storage box or 3. Thankfully I stay very close to an Ikea store.
Kris and I always joke that 17 years ago I had a shoe box of craft stuff..... Then I had a tower unit and corner in dining room. Then I took over the small room, the collection keeps growing too. So when Kris got a place of his own, I moved into his old room.
I'm uber lucky and I just love it.....

Where do you craft? I'd love to see pics...

chilling kind of day

So, today I'm blogging from my phone! That's a new one on me and I have to be honest, it's one I will only be doing in an emergency.... Just much easier on my lap top.

Today I have no crafty pic to show you, they're all on my laptop. But I was Ted to share this pic with you.
This is Kris, my wonderful, kind, hardworking son. I couldn't be more proud of him.
The pupsters are Daisy and Dylan. They are our adorable rescue springy things....

I'm in the middle of gutting my studio, nearly there but its taken me a lot longer than I thought..... Watch this space for some photos.....

Welcome 2016!!

Happy New Year to you all.
I can't believe that we are now into a brand new year.
It's great that new beginnings mean exactly that - time to close the door on the old chapter and start a fresh page.
So here's to all of us and the new adventures that 2016 will bring.....

The card I wanted to show you today is the card that I made Kris for Christmas....

Here are a few close ups for you to show off the details.....

I loved making this card..... what crafty things have you been up to - or what crafty things do you have planned for 2016?

Wreath card

I loved creating this card......
I spritzed, sprayed and dropped lots of ink onto some white card stock, then I stamped the two sizes of holly leaf all over it.
After I cut them all out I fixed them onto my card base in a wreath design.
I finished my wreath by adding some adhesive stones, bows and a greeting.

I really love working with the Oak House Studio leaves, you get so many in the stamp set.... pop on over to their shop, you find this stamp set here...
The bumper leaf set is also the set that I use to create my poinsettias......

I'd love to see what you create with their inks and stamps, so make sure you share them with us!
