Nice and simple to make but very effective.

My card for my neices....

This is the card that I have made for my neices, Bethany and Amelia......
what you can't see is the glitter snow that is on the bottom of the card and the glaze that shimmers over the card.
I decided to make them a big a4 card just as something different.
Thankfully they are both far too little to be reading my blog, so they won't see it before they open it! lol

Just for you...

I love this card...... sometimes I look at things I make and think, yeah - it's ok.... but this one I really like.
The Woodland Folk papers are double sided so the backing I have created comes from one a4 sheet.
He's a very friendly looking chap.

Here is a close up of some of the detail.

Oriental doorway.....

Today the card I have made is not a Christmas card!!!!
This is my oriental doorway, made using the oriental peel off stickers from Do Crafts, some paper flower roses and leaves (again all new products from Do Crafts).

Here is a close up of the flowers, I think they look very pretty.

I love the little leaf punches. They add the little detail that can often be lacking with just the flowers.
I can see me using these little gems all the time!!

A Christmas wreath....

Here's a Christmas wreath I made from a polystyrene ring, some florist ribbon, curling ribbon, bells and the Do Crafts poinsettia template.
It was really good fun to make and is very very light.

And of course, I just had to make one in this colour!!!

Give it a try ad let me see what you create!

My view

No...... not my opinion (although as a lot of you will know, I am not afraid to give that either! lol).
This is the view from my study window....... I find it so inspiring!

I love the way that is looks so blue....... it's just the way that the light is at the moment.
When we don't have lots of snow and blizzards, I can see right up to the Pentland Hills.
You could just sit and watch it for hours.

What view do you have out of your window?

Oriental butterfly.

This card has been made using the new range of oriental papers from Do Crafts and the Tim Holtz butterfly die.
I think they both work really well together.

Our winter wonderland walks.

I am so lucky to stay in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
It is a lovely place to live in normally but the winter blanket that has covered it just makes it look stunning.
These pictures were just taken with my phone, imagine how they would look if they were taken with a fancy camera!

My springy things just can't be kept in the house when we have snow. They just love to play in it!
And bounce in it, and chase everything around in it, and eat it!!!
Stay warm....

This little chap has been made using coredinations card stock and an embossing folder.

Edinburgh lights

Last week, Kris and I went to see the German market and lights in Edinburgh.
They are sooooo pretty!
If you get the chance go and have a look.

I love the little lights on the trees. They twinkle away and look so very pretty.
The smell of the mulled wine and roasting chestnuts makes it feel so like Christmas.

New home.......

Well my little boy has all grown up and has now moved into his first flat.
It really is a beautiful flat - and the great thing about it being rented........ if there's a problem, then it's up to the landlord to sort it out! lol
Here is the card I made for Kris,
 This is the inside,

This is it from the top.
This card has inspired me to do some 3d pop up work for next year.
I am already starting work on a new Christmas tree pop up design for next year! Watch this space!!

A folded star

This is an easy one to do and has been very popular at my demos.
I have taken step by step pictures rather than a video as this is what was requested!
I hope you can follow them ok......

1. Cut 8 squares from the patterned paper of your choice. I have inked the edges of my squares (the ones I am using are 5cm x 5cm).
2. Fold each square in half, on the diagonal, so that you have a triangle.
3. Fold each triangle in half, then open back to the original triangle. This will give you a crease line down the middle.
 4. Holding onto the right hand side of the triangle, push the bottom crease up to the middle crease. When you look at your triangle you will now have a little square on top of the original triangle.
 5. Fold the top of the square over on itself.
 6. Now fold the same point back over on itself again.
 7. Do this on all 8 squares.
8. Now we start to glue it together........

Here is another one I made with some of the new oriental papers from Do Crafts.
Let me know how you get on with them.

Happy paper folding!

Still here.......... honest!!

Forever friends....

I have always been a big fun of Forever Friends and I just love this collection!
There are so many elements to choose from!
Decoupage in every form you can imagine, papers, boxes, toppers.... the list goes on and on.
Go and visit a Do Crafts stockist to find the collection - you will not be sorry that you did!
This card was one I made up from a tiny amount of the items.
Can you guess what the snowballs are made from!????!

They are the waste bit from the back of the 3d circle foam pads!!! Normally this bit gets put in the bucket!
I stuck them into position using tacky glue and then added some glitter detail to the edge.
I thought they made really effective snowballs!!

Waste not want not!
Lol

Oh Christmas tree......

I really love this stamp. It's one of the Papermania ones for this year (it's PMA 906900 filigree Christmas tree) if any of you are looking for the code for it.
To get the mixed colours on the tree, I just used 4 different shades of green.
Start with the lightest of your colour first, this way you can always add more ink!!!

If you start with the darkest colour that will be all that you see.

I used one of the darker shades to ink around the edges and then a velvet ribbon to match.
My decorations for the tree are little buttons.

Simples!

Purple snowflakes

Today my card is made from one of the vellum notes from Do Crafts.
I've punched out the snowflakes using a Do Crafts punch and different types of paper. (All purple of course! lol).
To finish off the snowflakes I've added some adhesive gems, a must have to my crafty stash!
The borders have been done using glitterations stickers (again from Do Crafts).

Back soon with some more for you to see.

A sugar free Christmas cake!

I made this at my last demo up in Inverness at Hobby Haven.
Everyone really loved the card but you should have heard the laughter when I then cut the bite marks out of it!!
This was made using a circle card blank, but if you don't have any of them then you could easily make it using shapecutters or a die for your machine.
I have covered the card blank in chocolate coloured glitter cardstock. Then cut out the icing, holly leaves etc and stuck them onto the card.

Because this glitter cardstock (from Do Crafts) has a paper backing, it makes it a lot easier to stick to other surfaces. And you don't end up covered in glitter!
If you're not sure about what adhesive to use I recomment pva, silicone or pinflair.

I love how sparkly this card is.

And this is what is inside the box,
