A little something different

I took a break from card making this week as I had an idea in my head for a 3d project that I wanted to try and make for my son.
Kris has collected dragons for a while now and as he bought me a 3d pen for Christmas, I thought I'd try and make something 3d with it! Lol
Here is the little friend I made for him....
I love this little guy..... So much fun to make.
I'll add more pics when I'm on the laptop, the phone is being silly!......
Whatever you get up to this weekend, have fun.

Thinking of you

Sadly I have had to make too many of these cards this year.....
Either people passing away or people who are very ill.....
2016 has been a very strange year so far...
But hey, any excuse to get making some quilled flowers....... I just love the little quilled roses in white.
The butterflies are from Do Crafts..... Love the bare basic range - easy to colour and great for just finishing off your project....
What have you been making most of this year?

The smell of Lenor ......

Now, I really love the Lenor/Comfort little smelly beads that you add to your washing......
But....... they are rather expensive.... so I came up with a different way to use them...
This is what I did.....
I used one pot of the unstoppables and some mini organza bags....

I created a funnel from scrap paper to make it easier to fill the little bags.

Once I'd filled all the bags I secured them tightly at the top and then placed them into all of my drawers.
I did this a couple of months ago and they are still going strong, all of the drawers smell lovely!
So now I still get the smelly on my clothes but a tub of the unstoppables lasts soooooo much longer!

This is the card that I'm sharing with you all today....

I love the look of the blues and kraft card together. It goes really well together.
And I just love that ribbon - it was a bargain from Lidl...... I do love a bargain.... today my search for a bargain will take me off for a visit to B&M....
wish me luck!

Spots and dots

I do love a black and white card... nice and easy to do and really effective. Great for boys or girls too.
This was a card that I made a while ago, but I never blogged...... so i thought I'd share it today ....

Lots of glitter glue and punched circles....
I think it made a very effective card.

Wow, it's been a while

This year just seems to be flying in.
Time just seems to have run away.
I have been creating lots, just don't seem to have had a lot of time for blogging. I'll try to get better at that one!
It's 4am here and I'm wide awake so I thought I'd try blogging from my phone..... Not the easiest thing to do when you are partially sighted but hey ho..... Trying it anyway.
Here is the card I wanted to share with you today....

I'm loving making small cards at the moment.... I think they're cute....
What have you been up to over the past month?

Triple Layer Stamped Card

Hi there,

I've been asked a couple of times for a tutorial on this type of card, so here it is!
This is the card that I will be showing you how to create....

So, here's how you can put it together....

I am using these stamps from Hobby Art (fantastic stamps, excellent value for money and a great stamped image all the time)....
So to start the card I cut an 11x11cm, a 9x9cm and a 7x7cm from white card stock. Then I cut the matting layers for each of these squares. So an 11.5x11.5cm, 9.5x9.5cm and a 7.5x7.5cm square from patterned paper.
Put the patterned papers to one side for the minute.
Put a little piece of double sided tape onto the center of the two largest squares. Make the tape a little less tacky by pressing it against some fabric or by rubbing it lightly with your fingers.
Layer these squares on top of each other as shown here.
Go ahead and stamp your design all over the layered squares.
When you separate your squares they will look like this....
Layer these onto your patterned paper squares.
Match up the design and fix into place. (I have used double sided tape to do this but you could use 3d foam pads for extra depth).
 Fix onto your card.
To finish my card I have added some colour to the flowers, used some ribbon and a greeting...... and of course as it's me, there had to be some adhesive stones.
Here are two cards, made with the same stamp set. It's an easy to do technique that gives great effect.

I hope you found this useful. Let me know if you use it, I'd love to see what you create.

I think he is just incredible.
This is the birthday card I made for him...

We always have so much fun when we are together.

It was great to get the drawing pencils and pens out again. Its been too long!

Getting prepared....

With 324 days to go, it's a great time to get making those Christmas cards..... to be honest I've got loads done already! I am soooooooo gonna be prepared this year! lol

Today I wanted to share a couple of the cards with you.....

I've had quite a few commission pieces to work on over the past few weeks, and I've got a few weddings to get making things for....... Let the spring time madness begin with that one! lol

I'm going to be looking for some challenges to join in with too over the next few weeks as all my dt posts have now come to an end...... It's a strange feeling.... but I'm sure something else will come along at some point.

It does mean that I've had the time to sort out and clean up the studio...... I love that place!!!

What are you all up to at the moment?

Whatever it is, have fun!

Thank you

Every year I like to make a set of thank you cards so that I have them all ready and good to go.
I write them for gifts that I am given for Christmas, birthday or just as a way to say thank you to someone.
(I remember after every Christmas or birthday as a child being made to write thank you notes to everyone and it's just kind of stayed with me - it's such a shame that a lot of children; and adults for that matter, just don't say thank you any more. And I think a little note makes it extra special).
For these designs I used one of my Hobby Art stamps - excellent quality, very reasonable prices, excellent customer services....... also bought the ink from them too....

A little close up for you .......
I really love these stamps.... Watch this space for a lot more being done with them.

Have a great day, whatever you are up to.
