I love the Minions

I have to admit they have really become a kind of obsession.... I just love the little minions... and everytime I hear them laugh.... well you can just imagine!
So, when I was asked this week if I could make a minion birthday card - no problem!
This is what I came up with.....

Everything I used is a Do Crafts products..... from the cards stock to the circle dies.
They are really easy to create and pop together.
I will do a set of tutorials on the different characters if you want me to....

I've now been asked to create a Christmas minion card - thinking cap is on.... I do love it when people set a challenge! lol

The sun is out here again today and for once a day off.... so time to catch up on all the things I haven't done over the past few weeks.... or maybe today will be a proper day off and I will just do not a lot!

Have fun, whatever you get up to today xxx

A baby boy...

No.. not the one in the news today - but a huge congrats to Will and Kate on the birth of their son, I know from experience that a son is the best gift I was ever given!
This son was born to the son of my boss....
He was a special little chap who arrived a tad early but who is now doing really well.
I made 2 cards for this... one from Mo for her son and daughter in law, and one from us for Mo as a new Nana....
These are the cards,

I loved making these - every time I make a baby card, it takes me back to that time in my life when I brought my new baby home..... very special.

Well, back to the study for me.... got some digis that I am working with this week.....
Watch this space to see what I am playing with.

You are my sunshine...

Do Crafts for a while now have been bringing out lots of soft crafting materials, so there are different types of material etc to go with the ranges they launch.
Now I have used them to make toys and bags etc but this time I wanted to do something different with them, this time I wanted to show all our traditional papercrafters that you can design and create with the material as if it was paper on a lot of projects - the material gives your project a very tactile approach though. I love it!
I had so much fun creating this project last night that I got a bit carried away and didn't go to bed until 2am! But I think it was worth every minute....
Here is the canvas that I created, it's an 8x8...
And here are some close ups for you to see.......

I love the finished project.... I will take it to my demos for the rest of this loop so that you can see it if you are there.
Have a go at creating something with fabric, I'd love to see what you come up with - and if you use Do Crafts fabrics, make sure you pop on over to their facebook page and share it with them as well.

Whatever you are up to today, have a great day.......

Little birdies

I love love love the home to nest range from Do Crafts. It's a perfect range for those mens cards that we can all struggle with - but it's also great for the people who love to do gardening or for anyone who likes birds and bird watching.
Here are a few cards that I made using the range.......

It's def on my must have more of list..... I am going to add some snow to the top card and turn it into a Christmas card.
What kind of things have you been up to?
This 28 degree weather we are having at the moment is far to hot for me. I much prefer the cooler temperatures.
I have been creating some more earrings with friendly plastic though - I really do love that stuff..... I think I might make a bracelet or two with it next....... Hmmmm lots of ideas with that one.
I'm working on a few tutorials too, but they will take some time as the heat means that you just can't sit for a long time...... watch this space though!
I hope you have an amazing weekend, whatever you are doing.
Happy crafting

Hot...hot...hot

Like a typical Scot.... this heat is just making me wilt.... I love the rain and would love to see some right now!
It's far to hot for my liking at the moment...
At least when the weather is cold, you can always add an extra layer - there's only so much you can take of before you get arrested! lol
So with all the heat it seems really strange to be demoing Christmas cards...
They did go down very well at the demos over the weekend.
A massive thank you to those of you who came along to see me over the weekend. It's always lovely to see you all.
Here are some of my samples that I wanted to share with you today,

Tonight I am finishing off making a few pairs of earrings with friendly plastic - I love working with that stuff.... next year I hope to take part in a class or workshop weekend about it to learn even more....
I will share the photos of them when they are finished and with the person that they are for.

Back to work for me..... happy crafting x

It's new loop time....

Over at Do Crafts the new launch and new demo loop has begun.
So all over the UK and Ireland there are designers with heads down coming up with some creative yummyness to share with you at the demos and across blog land.
This loop sees that start of the Christmas launches....... well there are only 173 days to go you know!
There is something for everyone though as this loop also sees the launch of Tilly Daydream - she is an all season kind of a gal so not just for Christmas...
I have been really busy prepping for my two demos this week, make sure you pop in and say hi if you are in the area!
Friday I will be in Inkspot Hamilton - Lyn and I will be demoing there all day (Beckie and Lyn will be demoing on the Saturday too).
Saturday I will be in Millers in Glasgow.
On to the couple of cards I wanted to show you today...

Here is a card using some of the Papermania Christmas in the country range.

A little close up for you .....

This card uses the Tilly Daydream range

The little Tilly embellishment is actually from the packaging ...

Today my task is to get everything I want to take into my kit bag - it's an early start tomorrow.....
Hopefully the rain we have today will not be here tomorrow.

Have a great day, whatever you are doing.
Happy crafting

Latest orders to share with you

Hello bloggy world.... what creative things are you up to today?
I am still sample making for my demos this weekend - it can take ages to get everything prepped at this stage.....
Today I wanted to share some of my latest commissioned cards with you, it's lovely when people think enough of your work that they trust you to make that special card for that special person in their lives...

Here are my latest 3,
This one was for a special husband who loves to go fishing.
This one was for a twin sister who loves purple.....
This one was for a tea loving lady ...

I had a lot of fun making them all.
It's nice to be challenged to step outside your comfort zone sometimes - I think the hardest thing about a commissioned card is that you have never met the person it's for.......

Have a great day, whatever it brings to you.
Happy crafting
