Create and craft cards

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by my facebook page and left some lovely comments about my card projects that were the samples for the Do Crafts shows on Create and Craft last week.
Phill Martin was there demoing some of the wonderful crafty goodness from Do Crafts.
A lot of you have asked to see them again.... so here they are........
The first picture is what my desk looked like when I started to craft...

Not too bad for one nights work..... lol

An origami Christmas tree

I've had a lot of people asking how I make the little origami Christmas trees that I put onto cards, so I thought I would put together this tutorial for you.....
Let me know how you get on...

This is the finished card as it was seen on Create and Craft.
Take a square of paper - the paper I am using here is a sheet of paper from the Papermania Noel 6x6 pad (it's hitting your shelves very soon!!)
Fold it over in half (corner to corner, as the picture shows).
Take the two bottom points and fold them up to the top point. This should now look like a square.
Flip the whole thing over. Now fold in the two sides to the middle to make a kite shape.
Turn over your piece of paper and open out the sides.
Fold the two points in, following the sides of the kite shape.
Fold in the bottom section of the kite shape - use the photo as a guide. Do not worry if this overlaps or does not meet.
Fold the point of this section over on itself.
Wrap the two sides over the top of the centre section - these will not meet so don't worry about it.
At this point take a bone folder or paper creaser over all your edges.
Turn over and there you have it - a little Christmas tree with a pot.... now you can decorate it!

Just to remind you - here is my finished card....

May your wish come true....

Sorry about the picture here - not quite sure what happened...
I love these little toppers (I'm pretty sure this one is a kanban one).

Here is a close up of some the detail...

I love the little butterflies too.
And just because I can, I used the little adhesive stones to show off the flight of the butterfly.

Today my task is, head down and get the mag work done that needs to go off to the publisher this week and get my digi stuff done for the next challenge over on the Elle blog... - Keep an eye out on the one as there will be a hop coming your way!!!

Tatty Teddy on a swing.....

How to make....
1. Stamp the Tatty Teddy in the centre of your card, add colour to the teddies nose.
2. Punch out 5 midi flowers, 5 mini flowers, 7 of the leaf and 5 ferns from your chosen papers.
3. Shape your flowers and leaves with an embossing tool to give dimension. Fix these into position down the rope of the image.
4. Finish by adding adhesive stones to the middle of the flowers (colour match these with the papers that you have used).

Best wishes

I've been trying to build up my stock of quick cards over the past few days... I always try to keep a little stash of these so that I am never caught short for a card, but my stash just seems to have vanished!
The topper for this card is one of the Do Crafts Forever Friends toppers.
It's a simple card to make but the little bears always make me smile.
I added depth to the little card dots (down the side of the card by embossing the back of them).
This week is a very busy one for me..... I've got lots of samples to make for my Do Crafts demo this Saturday.
I will be back doing a demo in the wonderful shop that is Letham crafts.... it is a fantastic shop that is bursting at the seams with crafty goodness. If you are in the area on Saturday pop on over and say hello (ooh - and try the home baking in the cafe.... it is yummy!!!)
I'll be back soon...

Good morning!

Well it would be nice to say that the sun is shining, but it aint! The weather has gone very cold over the past few days and the sun seems to be hiding all together..... never mind - perfect weather for crafting!!!
Today I am going out with my Mum - really looking forward to it..... I bought her a very different prezzie for Mother's Day this year and today we are going to use it............. I bought her a session at Happy Feet.... now for those of you who don't know, Happy Feet, is the shop where you go and sit with your feet in a fish tank and the little fish nibble away!!! pmsl.....
Helen bought me a session for my birthday and when we finally stopped laughing...... well actually we didn't stop laughing, we just stopped needing a tena pad!!! it was good fun. So I thought I'd get it for my Mum..... I'll try and take some pictures to share with you all later.
Here is the card I wanted to share with you today.............

This friendly little chap is a Kanban image (sorry that the photo is a bit of a blur.....). The butterflies where a little find that I made in a book shop - they are very sweet.
The flower is an element from Papermania and the leaves are made using green pearl card and a MS punch.
Here is a little close up...
Whatever you are doing today................ have fun!

Over on the Elle challenge blog

Well over on the Elle challenge this month there is a sketch challenge.
It's my turn to host, so here is the sketch that I came up with for everyone to use...
Simple enough you would think for the person who designed the challenge and the sketch to be able to follow her own instructions!?!?!?!? No......
I ended up having to make 2 cards!!!
Here is my second card using the sketch.....
I loved this image from Helen, she is a very talented lady! And for a change I coloured Roger in purple...... just because I can! lol.
Now for the confession....
I got so carried away using some of the digi stamps that on my first card I completely forgot to use the sketch!! oops...
Here is the card I made first...
I hope you like them both..... Maybe next time I will pay attention to my own instructions! lol.
Why don't you come on over and join us in the challenge? It would be great to see how you use the sketch.

Happy craftin'

What happened to the sun...

The sun seems to be having a problem coming out today.... never mind! I am working away in the study (or the craft room as Kris likes to call it! lol).
Today's card is a little Forever Friends card.
I think I will always have a special place in my heart for the FF range. The bears have been around all of my life and they always make me smile.
I really need to get this study sorted out - there seems to be piles of stuff everywhere!!! The scary thing is, I know where to find everything.... lol
Maybe I just need a bigger house......
