I realised that I hadn't shared my dt post for the Crafting Cafe with you all this month!!!! Bad Nikki... lol
So here it is.... This month our theme is flight of fancy......
I chose to use the planet and the spaceman with rocket as my digis.
I knew I had a birthday card to make and I knew just what I wanted to do......
Using the planet I resized it and covered some cardstock (one of the great things I love about digis is that you are in total control and can make them any size you want!)...
Then I did another planet and 2 of the spaceman and rocket - this meant I could create my own decoupage with the spaceman to add depth.
I attached the extra planet and spaceman to the card with some acetate. This is a great way to add some movement to your card.
The viser was created with 3d gloss. Glitter glue gave the added shimmer.
I really had a lot of fun making this card and I know it went down very well with the birthday boy.
We would love to see your flights of fancy projects over on the cafe blog - and this month is the last month of their dt call! So if you fancy joining us and working with some wonderful digis.... Pop on over to the blog, add your challenge on the theme and remember to put dt after your name!!!
Looking forward to seeing what you all create.
Happy crafting

Time for some crafting
So far this week we have had rain, hail, snow and sleet.... there's also been a bit of sunshine.... today there is just a lot of cloud and rain.
Perfect for staying in and doing some crafty things....
First of all though, before any crafting for me next week, I've been finishing off some commissions - I'll share them with you are soon as they are finished and I can share them.
Today though I wanted to share these two projects with you,
The first one is my Mum's mothers day card.
I really love making these quilled flowers. (See the tutorial column on the left to find out how simple they are to make). They save me a fortune on embellishments and they mean that all my little scraps are used up.
Here's a few close ups for you.
The second card is a commission from a friend. Her uncle loves budgies so I was asked to make a get well card that featured one..... this is what I came up with.
Next on my list is my DT work..... off to do some colouring in and then some embossing..... watch this space to see what I come up with.
I'll share them very soon!
Happy crafting to all of you and to those of you who celebrate it - Happy Easter.

Still rough around the edges...
Well, that bug was a lot nastier than I expected. I still have it but it's a lot better than it was.... back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks of not being able to even move...... So it's now week four.... I will not be beaten....
On other news, I was at the hospital yesterday for a check up and electric testing for carpal tunnel... well it's confirmed that I do have carpal tunnel and nerve damage. Now I just need to wait and see what they want to do about it. It does make crafting a little difficult but still smiling!!! lol
Today I wanted to show you a couple of cards that I made for a couple of commissions.
If you like to work with digis and like a challenge - pop on over to the crafting cafe blog..... they have a dt call that will run until the end of April........
Would be great to see you over there.
Happy crafting

Lurgy strikes again....
I thought I had done well this year to avoid the flu, colds and general lurgies that all my friends and work colleagues seem to have caught this year......
Well that's what I get for being smug!!! Day 2 in bed with a very sore head, cough and general bug filled yeukness.......
So I apologise for the lack of posting..... it's been a very busy month and it's only gonna get busier.....
Hey ho...
Here is a card that I wanted to share with you today...
It was commissioned by someone at work.
I hope whatever you are doing today you have fun.

Blue skies and a day filled with crafting...
That's my day today.
Got a few crafty commissions to finish for this week, so that will keep me out of trouble.....
Yesterday we had snow and sleet up here, today there is blue sky..... although it's freezing! And according to the weather man, we have a yellow warning out for more snow and high winds..... perfect weather for staying inside and crafting....
Here are a couple of cards that I wanted to share with you all.....
Birthday time......
I love the designs that Do Crafts brought out with the uber talented John Byars...... I love working with these designs. So easy to leave plain or colour - everything works with them.
I'd love to see him do a Christmas range as I think the hand drawn sketch look would be amazing.
This is my next card,
I hope you have a craft filled week and enjoy whatever you get up to.
Happy crafting
Nikki x
P.S - as I finish this post and look up, I see the blue sky has now become white and the snow is falling again..... lightly, but it is falling.... staying inside and crafting it is then! lol

It's a very special day today!
My son Kris turns 25 today.....
25!!! How the devil did THAT happen!!!
I couldn't be prouder of the wonderful man he has become. I fell in love with him before he was born and I am so amazingly lucky to have been blessed with Kris as my son and that I was part of the adventure that his childhood was.
This is the card that I made for him today.....
Happy birthday Kris!!!
Here's to the next 25 years.....
Love you to the moon and back xxx
Hopefully by the time this post goes up, he will have opened his prezzies and read the card.... lol
Have a great crafty day, whatever you are all doing.

Oopsie...... time has just run away again....
Wow!
Time flies..... I'd love to say that I have been relaxing and doing nothing.... but those of you who know me will know that just never happens with me!
I have had lots of crafty orders over the last few weeks, and as they are given to the people they have been commissioned for I will be able to share them with you..... Glitter glasses, cards, pictures and 3d art are just some of the things I have been up to.
Today I wanted to share a couple of my commissions with you...
I love all forms of crafting and this year I have already started making my Christmas prezzies.... (all the special people in my life are getting handcrafted gifts this Christmas)......
I always come back to papercrafting though..... totally addicted to that...
What crafty things have you been up to?
Happy crafting

Embossing meets home decor...
It's my turn to blog over on the WOW! challenge blog and I just love the theme this month!
This month we have been set the challenge of creating some home decor with our embossing powders.
I knew what I wanted to make right away!
I have been slowly creating and moving into a crafty studio in my house and I wanted a nice light shade for the ceiling light.
So this is what I created....
The light was on when I took these pictures so it's quite hard to see the colours, but scroll down and you will see a close up shot of the butterflies.
I die cut lots of different butterflies and chose my colour scheme.. I used melt it powder, frozen berries, primary purple orchid, purple glitz, violet pearl and blue topaz
I wanted a purple mix so I took a silver dish and combined my purples.
Then I inked the butterflies and embossed them, one at a time.
To attach them to my lampshade I used a hot glue gun.
Here is the close up of the butterflies on the shade...
I think they look really pretty.
We would love to see how you use your embossing powders around the home with your DIY projects, play along with the challenge and you could win some WOW! powders too!
Happy crafting
