Time for some crafting

So far this week we have had rain, hail, snow and sleet.... there's also been a bit of sunshine.... today there is just a lot of cloud and rain.
Perfect for staying in and doing some crafty things....
First of all though, before any crafting for me next week, I've been finishing off some commissions - I'll share them with you are soon as they are finished and I can share them.
Today though I wanted to share these two projects with you,
The first one is my Mum's mothers day card.
I really love making these quilled flowers. (See the tutorial column on the left to find out how simple they are to make). They save me a fortune on embellishments and they mean that all my little scraps are used up.

 Here's a few close ups for you.

 The second card is a commission from a friend. Her uncle loves budgies so I was asked to make a get well card that featured one..... this is what I came up with.

Next on my list is my DT work..... off to do some colouring in and then some embossing..... watch this space to see what I come up with.

Here comes Bellisima

Here is a sneaky peek of a new range that will be hitting the shops in March.
This is the Bellisima range from Do Crafts....

Here is a card I made with it,

You can see that the colour palette is very similar to the Henbury Lane / Lucy Cromwell collections that came out a while a go.... I loved both of these collections. The pastel mixtures are very feminine....

Woo hoo....

Finally starting to see the wood for the trees again.... (well until the next kit arrives that it)...
Do you ever feel that sometimes you would just like to get off the roundabout for a while......?

Hey ho... Over the next few days I am going to show you some commission cards that I have been working on this week.
Today the card is for a Mum who will be turning 70.

Out came the Kanban and Hunkydory kits this week - I've not played with them for a while so it was good to have a rake through them again.... the only downside was that I was up til after 1 this morning doing the whole 'ooh I forgot I had that......' lol.. Had to get up at 5 just to make sure I finished them!

I find it difficult when you are designing a card for someone who you have never met and you really know nothing about them.....

A card for Mum.....

Wow - the time has just whizzed by since I was on here...
I have been rushed of my feet this week, very busy at work so - sorry that I've not been around here much.
You just turn around and a whole week has gone!

My demo for today got cancelled because of the snow and transport issues, so you would think today would be a day of nothingness! Nope...... today was the day I made a few cards, cause I had to get them done..... and I started the dreaded tax form...... Now it's a thing I could do in April, but I always leave it right to the last minute to do..... Not good - I do mean to do it quicker.... but I don't like it, struggle to understand it and just don't want to.... So every year it ends up with me calling my Mum..... and having to get her to sort me out....

Where oh where would we be with out our Mums.......
So with that in mind, here is a card for all the wonderful Mums out there - the unsung hero who is always there, always helping, always caring.... no matter how old we get.....

Clean and simple.....
