Feeling blue...

Today is my final show from the Create and Craft show with the Michael Powell stamps (have I mentioned just how much I love these stamps!!!).
This card I coloured all in blue, just to show that you don't need to spend lots and lots of time using lots of colour. These stamps have been very cleverly created and the designs are amazing. So easy to use and the shading just happens when you are working with them.
I thought that this card, done in the shades of blue, worked very well as a card for a man.
Of course, you could use any colour you would like.
This card was made using one of the many extra bits that you get on the card kit.
The frame is one of the new xcut dies - I love love love these dies. (small ones are £9.95 and the big ones are £12.95 - what a bargain! ! ! !
I love the fact that the dies all come on their own magnet sheet too - no more lost and damaged dies!
I'm away for a few days (catering for a mad group of Guiding Leaders! lol) but I'll be back next week with lots more to show.....
Keep an eye out for the new launch from Do Crafts next week..... It's a Boofle extravagaza!!!!!!!!! I'll be back to share some of the samples that I made from that.
Have a great weekend!
Happy crafting.

2 posts in one day...

Well, I couldn't keep these cards to myself! lol
I have had so much fun working with the products, I just wanted to share them.

These stamps work brilliantly with so many mediums.
So far, I think my favourite has been the watercolour pencils - very quick to do and you can get some stunning results.
I have also used glass paints (directly onto the cardstock), alcohol pens, pens and chalks.
I'd love to see what you have done with them too.
Happy crafting

Colouring in....

Here are some more of the Michael Powell cards that I started to show you yesterday.
Anyone who knows me, knows just how much I love to colour in..... I'm just like a child!!!! lol

The great thing about this collection is that it has something for everyone. Stamps, toppers, paper and cardstock.
So if you are not confident enough to colour at the moment you can still use the wonderful images...
Perfect for birthday cards or mens...... Ooh - if someone was having a murder mystery weekend..... or a Tuscan wedding...
I think my favourite is the secret garden - it was one of my favourite books and tv shows as a child. I loved the idea of a secret garden.....
What kind of crafty things are you up to today?

Michael Powell

Now when I was at the NEC a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to meet this very talented man.
I love love love his cross stitch (I now have a couple that I must get time to put together!).... and I was over the moon to get the chance to work with his wonderful designs in papercrafting. (Just wait til you see the set that will be getting launched next month!!!!! - ssshhhhh it's a secret though - wonderful beach huts and lighthouses)...
Over the next couple of days I will be showing you some of the finished samples that were shown on create and craft today.
I hope you like them.
Here are my cards for today....

I just love the quirky lines and the fact that the images are so good they look amazing even when they are done in shades of one colour.
I'll be back with some more to show you all tomorrow.

One for the men

Boy has the past few days been mad!
I have been very busy making samples for some up coming Do Crafts shows on Create and Craft.
As soon as I am allowed, I will show you the photos of the things I have been making (some of them should be on with Dawn Bibby tomorrow - the rest are on with Sheila on the 24th)...
Today I thought I would share a card for the man in your life.
The folds for the tie are easy to do and when I have a little more time on my hands, I will put together a tutorial for you.
For today though..... here is the card............

I used the bookprint paper (one of my favs at the mo!) and a kraft card base.
What kind of cards do you like to make for the men in your life?

A little card from my demo

Well this is a new thing for me.....
I'm writing todays blog post from my mobile.....
Just a quick post for today.
I had a great demo in Millers, Glasgow. But I'm exhausted, so going to bed for an early night.
Hopefully I have managed to attach a card that I made today. I love this stamp, it's coloured with watercolour pencils.
Back tomorrow. Xxx

Colour wheels

A lot of people tell me that they struggle with knowing how to put colour together when they are creating a papercrafting project...
Well have a look over here....
I love playing with the colour wheel on this site.

But here are a few that you can print off and always have close to hand for times that you are stuck and don't have the computer to hand...

I hope they help.
Opposite colours on the wheel always work well together and the colours either side of your main colour work as well.....

My trip to the NEC

I was lucky enough to be invited down to the NEC by WOW embossing powders.
I had soooo much fun and as promised here are a few pictures from my time down there....
This was how I arrived at the NEC to help set up..... I got a lift from the fireman on duty!!!! lol..... Me behind bars..... no comment! It was sooooo funny!
This little owl was one I mad using the WOW stamps and embossing powders (I have to say I am totally in love with the wonderful range of embossing powders that they have!!!!)
Stamping onto tissue paper, embossing it and then melting it into the candle. I love this stamp.
Same stamp but this time on a card. I stamped and embossed a butterfly background.
A couple of close ups of the butterfly design. Loving these stamps...... very elegant look about them - you will find all of these products over on the WOW shop......
Off to bed soon for me.... lots and lots to do tomorrow.... where does the time fly.....
Back tomorrow with some more crafty things to show you.

National Pet Day

Today is day 11 on the Ultimate blog challenge, and one of the prompts today told me that is was national pet day..........
So before I show you my card for today I thought I would show you my very special pupsters - Daisy and Dylan. Now they are both rescue doggies with just sooooo much love to give.
Meet Daisy and Dylan (Daisy is the one at the back with her eyes shut)....
Dylan is an old man now, he had such a bad start in life but is very very loved now.
And this is Daisy - she is mad.... bonkers..... crazy!!! She fits in just fine with us and we adore her.

These two little furry friends have got me through many a dark night - oh the stories they could tell! No matter what, they just love you for who you are.......
As today is national pet day, i thought it only right that the card I made to show you was a Boofle one.... the loveable pup that Do Crafts have brought to us.
I think this simple little card is very effective and it was very popular at my demo last weekend.
Do you have a pet? I'd love to see a pic if you do.

My desk today....

Well I'm still on target for the ultimate blog challenge...
Today I thought I would share my desk with you..... I am working on samples for Do Crafts this week - I have a demo in Millers, Glasgow on Saturday - if you are in the area be sure to say hi.....
Anyway... here is my desk...

I've been quite productive today.... helped along by the fact that it snowed and hailed for most of the day....
I will take lots of photos of them when I am finished but for the mo, you can see a sneaky peek in the purple basket...
What does your desk look like at the moment?
I'd love to see a photo of your crafty area, leave me a comment so that I can pop over to your blog for a look....
I am also working on a few tutorials for the end of this week - watch this space!
