A little bit dotty...

Before you say it... no.. not me... the cards! lol
The background design for these cards has been very popular at demos and in classes.
It's so easy to do... all you need are some ink pads, an aperture and a pencil with a rubber on the end.

You can really add texture and design to your card, without needing lots of layers.
That way you cut down on the postage costs too.

I love this technique and will be using it again with some of my projects in this loop - so if you are at a demo and are not sure about it, please just ask and I'll show you.

Today I am off to gut that bedroom of mine.... I may be gone for a while! lol..... Tomorrow the new challenge goes live on the Cafe blog - so watch this space for that one......

Have a great day and enjoy what is left of your weekend xxx

Ahoy there.....

This was a very popular card at my demos in the last loop..
The little knot on the card is called a sailors knot - it's easy to do when you know how.... so I will get around to doing a tutorial for you if you want one. Just let me know....
Today I am getting creative with the new goody box from Do Crafts - Christmas is a coming!
Have a great crafty day - I hope your weather is better than ours..

Mind you, the rain pouring outside means it's a perfect crafting day inside!

Shades of one

I challenged some ladies last month to get creative with shades of one colour to create a card...... this is what i created to help them get inspired.
I love making these tiny owls - and they are perfect just to pop into an aperture.

A couple of close ups for you .....

I love this embossing folder, it's a Do Crafts one. In fact everything on the card is Do Crafts..... lol
The layout for this card is so easy to adapt and could be used for any theme....
6 months today until Christmas...... maybe I will make some Christmas cards up using the same layout.

Out and about today and then work tonight - it's the All Stars end of term BBQ.... looking forward to that one.

Have a fab day, whatever you are doing.

A little black and white

Well what can I say, when the techno stuff is working - yay..... but when it all decides to fail on me...... help!
So the printer wouldn't talk to the old laptop - the new laptop couldn't talk to the printer as I can't find the disk...... and even if I had it I have been warned windows 8 and the kodak printer are not a match in heaven.... so in stepped Dawn, one of my fabby dt - who printed me an image or two so I could at least create my Crafting Cafe post.......
Now my new phone isn't sending emails or loading pics onto my pc..... so my WOW post this weekend will not be on time....

Oh the joys..... as i said - love it when it all works....

Back to card I wanted to share with you today...... this is the card that I made for the challenge over on the Crafting Cafe.....

Pop on over and join in the challenge.... there is a wonderful prize to be won and having a challenge to follow is great fun!

Another card I wanted to show you is this one....

This card went to a special little boy who turned 9 today. Adam - happy birthday, your auntie Nikki loves you loads xxx

Whatever you are doing over the weekend - have fun.
Happy crafting,

(I will be sharing a tutorial with you next week..... luckily the photos are all ready to go!) x

Last of the latest commission

These are the last from the commission order that I have been sharing with you.
The order was for an anniversary card - as I didn't know who it was for I thought I would make two and then let the sender pick the one she wanted.
Much easier than just trying to work it out myself.

Today has been a mad one here - I had the demo in Craftworld.
A massive thank you to all the lovely people who came to see me and thank you so much for the lovely emails that I have been sent. It's really nice to know that you enjoyed the demo and took a lot away from it.
Thank you for making my demo so much fun!

Tonight I think will be an earlier one for me and tomorrow I have a list as long as my arm of things to catch up on.... although I might end up doing none of them! lol

I can do it when I try... 2 days and 2 posts! lol
Today I wanted to show you one of the other cards that I was commissioned to do.
I love the copper tones on this one, the stickers I used for the letters were the wrong colour so I coloured them in to get the shade I wanted.

Today the plan for me is to get myself organised for tomorrows demo - I will be over at Craft World in Hillington. If you are in the area make sure you pop in and say hello.
It's a brilliant shop with lots of fab goodies and offers. They even have an area for you to sit, chill and make a cuppa!
It always ends up costing me when I visit that shop...... lol
I will be sharing my demo samples with you over the next week or so, so please do pop on back and check them out.
Have a great day, whatever you are up to.

Happy crafting

Woo hoo....

Finally starting to see the wood for the trees again.... (well until the next kit arrives that it)...
Do you ever feel that sometimes you would just like to get off the roundabout for a while......?

Hey ho... Over the next few days I am going to show you some commission cards that I have been working on this week.
Today the card is for a Mum who will be turning 70.

Out came the Kanban and Hunkydory kits this week - I've not played with them for a while so it was good to have a rake through them again.... the only downside was that I was up til after 1 this morning doing the whole 'ooh I forgot I had that......' lol.. Had to get up at 5 just to make sure I finished them!

Back to the card,
Here it is.....

And a few close ups for you

I find it difficult when you are designing a card for someone who you have never met and you really know nothing about them.....
Off to work this afternoon.......
But I'll be back tomorrow with another one to show you - thanks for stopping by.

Have a great day, whatever you are doing.

A little bit MIA

sorry about that..... things have been hectic here to say the least - lots to show you soon though as I have been busy creating away.

Here is a little sneaky peek of a card I have just created.
I can't show you the rest at the moment as it is a commission card that has yet to find it's way to it's new home.
One of the things I have been very busy with is starting on the samples for Do Crafts for the next loop... I've not got my own kit yet though.....
Here comes Christmas....... there are some fabby non Chrimbo things heading your way to...
Watch this space as you might see some of the new things popping up over the next week or two...

Back to creating for me.....
I'll be back very soon with some projects to show you....

Happy crafting

My demo desk

I am often asked by people who can't attend demos what my desk looks like at a demo....... (referring to the mess I think! lol).
So I thought I would do you a little blog post on one of my demo desks.
Now each demo is different.... at some you have loads of space and you might even have another table for samples - this is rare though...
Sometimes I have done my demo from a table the size of and A4 piece of paper.... now that one was a challenge.... but I did it!
The table I am showing you today is from the demo that I did in Inkspot in Hamilton a few weeks ago...

This was a card making demo that included some bead work and some pc demos too - it's amazing how much you can pack into 2 days of demos....
Here are a couple of close ups of a few of the projects....

What creative things have you been up to over the past few days?
I am working on some more tutorials at the moment that will hopefully be ready to share with you all very soon.
I'm off to Do Crafts land in the morning...... I might even try and do a blog post on my travels......
Back soon.....
